A book more for the adults but a charming read for anyone if I’m honest. Gervase Phinn is a cult favourite and his Christmas stories always do well. This one is my favourite, depicting the shenanigans of a primary school Christmas Nativity play. The titles says it all really. It’s genius and is a laugh out loud read with some hilarious illustrations and charming anecdotes throughout, if you don’t include the children picking their noses that is, or stages collapsing, celebrity rivalries and some interesting (or should I say inspired) interpretations of the Nativity story….need I go on?
A lovely little book to dive in and out of during those dark winter evenings. The perfect antidote after a hard day entertaining hyped up children.
